Stage Lighting Planner Documentation
Overview
The Stage Lighting Planner is a web-based tool developed by Ryan Yeung, the Head of the Stage Management Team for the 24-25 season. This application allows users to visualize and plan the stage layout for events, performances, or productions.
Features
- Stage Layout: The main interface displays a grid-based representation of a stage, with labeled sections for Stage Left, Stage Right, and the Audience area.
- Prop Elements: Users can add various prop elements to the stage layout, including chairs, music stands, microphones, and condenser mics, by clicking on the corresponding icons in the bottom toolbar.
- Navigation: Users can navigate through the stage layout using the arrows in the bottom-right corner.
- Export/Import: The "Export Layout PDF" button allows users to save the current stage layout as a PDF file. The "Import" and "Export Lighting" buttons enable users to load or save the stage layout as a data file.
- Autoplay and Loop: The "Autoplay" and "Loop" buttons can be used to automatically cycle through the different pages of the stage layout.
- Clear All: The "Clear All" button allows users to remove all lighting elements from the stage layout.
How to Use
- Adding Lighting Elements: Click on the desired icon in the bottom toolbar (chair, music stand, microphone, condenser mic, or trash can) to add or remove the corresponding element from the stage layout.
- Navigating the Stage: Use the left and right arrow buttons in the bottom-right corner to navigate through the different pages of the stage layout. Alternatively, enter a specific page number in the "Page" input field and press Enter.
- Exporting and Importing: Click the "Export Layout PDF" button to save the current stage layout as a PDF file. Use the "Import" and "Export Lighting" buttons to load or save the stage layout as a data file.
- Autoplay and Loop: Toggle the "Autoplay" and "Loop" buttons to automatically cycle through the different pages of the stage layout.
- Clearing the Stage: Click the "Clear All" button to remove all lighting elements from the stage layout.
